Member Orientation is a free special training opportunity for all the members of our American Legion Family; Post 66, Auxiliary Unit 66 and Squadron 66 including all our leaders, new and seasoned are encouraged to attend. Our aim for this training is to give participants a basic orientation to the purpose and function of The American Legion and our Post 66 American Legion Family. The training will touch on our history and organization, as well as more current developments in the operations, and programs of The American Legion. This training will give members a better understanding of how the volunteers of Post 66 serve our veterans, their families and the San Luis Obispo community.
After the morning session there will be a free lunch for those that R.S.V.P., this helps us know how much food to buy! Lunch is a good time for members of our Legion Family to get to know each other better and get any question answered that may have come up during training.
The afternoon session will have presentations on the Sons of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary and our Legionnaires will have a discussion on the importance of leadership and opportunities within Post 66.
Member Orientation is free to participants. But, to help offset the cost we will have a donation jar available for those that want to help us cover the cost.
